Projects Mentored

On 25 August 2024, the Gazi Tyres factory was set on fire with people inside. An official inquiry recorded 182 missing, but the building was never searched and none has been declared dead. This web documentary rebuilds the event from published reporting, marking each claim established, contested or unanswered.

This project gathers twelve Chakma words for disappearance, night raid, checkpoint, curfew, land grab and collective punishment, a vocabulary of repression in the Chittagong Hill Tracts recorded largely outside the official record. The words were built from ordinary Chakma parts to name experiences the language never needed to name.
